Boarding Options ... at The Stables
at Eagle Mountain
|
We offer board to a small-but-select group of
people and horses here at The Stables. Most of our boarders
participate in co-op board, which means they maintain control over
their horse's care and welfare. While we do accept the
occasional full-boarded horse, we encourage our boarders to be
actively responsible for their horses. Horses that can be
included in our lesson program are always welcome when we have space
available, and may be eligible for a discounted boarding fee.
Board includes one 12 x 12 stall and 9 -12 hours of turnout per day. Scroll down for details about
all of our boarding options. |

We give preference to boarders from Coosawattee River Resort
whenever stalls are available; however,
we will accept outside boarders. |

The
basic idea behind co-op board is simple: you have the ultimate
responsibility for your horse's care. In our co-op program,
most boarders participate in an optional feed/turnout/stall-cleaning
rotation schedule -- but it's your horse, and you direct your
horse's care. This works best for experienced horse folks who
have a few mornings or evenings each week to devote to stable
management. It can also be an excellent learning experience
for newbies if they attend our series of HorseSense
Horse Care Clinics. |

We
don't often accept full-boarded horses, but if space is available,
we'll consider it for the right horse and the right person.
Full boarders receive all of the benefits listed above for Co-op
Board, but we assume responsibility for feed, turnout, and stall
cleaning. Full board rates start at $300
per month. Extended care options (exercising, grooming,
farrier and veterinary care, etc.) are extra.

We
get occasional requests for overnight board, and we try to
accommodate them if we have an available stall or paddock.
Overnight board starts at $20 per night;
owners supply all feed and hay. Negative Coggins and visual
health check required; no stallions. We
don't often have time to do much horse training, but when we do make
room for it in our schedule, we charge our
standard full-board rate plus $5 per day, with a 30-day minimum.
Owners are required to provide grain and hay.
